Competition + Performance Teams
By audition, our company is made up of dancers at the highest skill level across all ages. The company trains, performs and competes throughout the year
We offer two options for Company at K&D south. Both options have different requirements and commitment levels.
Competition Teams
Our competition team is for ages 6-18, and they perform and compete throughout the season as well as attend conventions. We recommend that dancers take at least one year of ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and technique before auditioning for the competition team. Dancers who have not had this training are recommended to audition for the performance team. Dancers who audition for the competition team and do not make the team will automatically be eligible for the performance team.
COMPETITION TEAM AUDITIONS & INTENSIVES
All competition team members are required to do one intensive over the summer. You do not have to audition for the competition team to take summer intensives. They are a great way for dancers to improve in their technique, strength and artistry at any level.
Auditions:
June 1
9:00-12:00 - ages 6-11
12:30-3:30 - ages 12-18
Intensives:
June 24-28 | ages 6-11
July 15-19 | 12-18
Performance Teams
Our performance team is for ages 5-15 for dancers who would like multiple opportunities to perform throughout the season. They typically have 4-5 performances per year at local venues and do one competition at the end of the season. This team is also eligible to attend conventions.
PERFORMANCE TEAM AUDITIONS
We encourage dancers interested in participating in the performance team to sign up for the intensives. Team rehearsals will begin in August.
